
Dr Ramaprasad holds a PhD in Atmospheric Physics from Purdue University. Prior to working as a Research Scientist at the University of Washington (UW) she worked as a post-doctoral researcher at NASA/Goddard Space Flight Center. She is currently an Analyst at Amazon, Seattle.
As a Research Scientist at the UW Department of Environmental And Occupational Health Sciences (School of Public Health) she has worked on a variety of multi-disciplinary scientific projects involving multi-disciplinary research across teams and covering diverse topics in the field of exposure analysis and risk assessment, mainly in the work-place. Her expertise spans modeling of complex systems, data analysis and study design involving human subjects.
She was a co-investigator in a study on the effects of Yoga on Breast Cancer Survivors conducted at the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center. She has completed the Faculty Integrative Health Program (FIHP) offered by the UW Schools of Medicine and Nursing geared toward allowing faculty to explore the theoretical concepts, clinical practices and evidence related to alternative integrative therapies.
Dr Ramaprasad's research includes topics as diverse as Atmospheric Drift Modeling, Health Effects of Electromagnetic Fields, Toxicokinetic Modeling and Risk Analysis.
Dr Ramaprasad is a trained meditation instructor and has taught classes at the University of Washington's Women's Center. Click here for details.
