Research in the News

Everything we experience in life is processed through the brain. Memories, emotions, thoughts, dreams, creativity.

Science is making great strides in understanding the brain.  Advanced imaging techniques like functional MRI (fMRI) are providing a direct view into how the brain functions and what parts of the brain light up during different activities. We are also understanding that all of our emotions have a chemical signature to them.  Many of the neurotransmitters like dopamine, melatonin, seratonin and GABA are directly correlated with mood, sleep, anxiety, stress and attention. It is well documented that stressful events cause alterations to the chemistry and circuitry of the brain.

Where do yoga, meditation and mindfulness fit in? Awareness of our body and mind in every moment is their key message. We know that emotions modulate the encoding of memories. Our strongest memories are often linked to strong emotions- either positive or negative. Awareness modulates the conscious storage and retrieval of memories.

Conscious Solutions is founded with the mission of deepening our understanding of the ancient techniques of yoga and meditation.
These techniques were cognized and designed toward promoting creativity, intelligence and a harmonious way of life
